A Gainesville, Florida, woman was arrested on Saturday after police said she bit the parts of two fingers off an 89-year-old man, who lived at the same group home.

Linda Kay Swift, 52, got into a fight with the elderly man around 7:30 a.m. on Saturday, punching him in the head and chest multiple times, the Gainesville Sun reports. Police said Swift's actions were unprovoked.

According to the arrest report, Swift “bit off the ends of two of his fingers” with the man missing “his index finger to the middle of the knuckle and his ring finger to the first knuckle.” Swift also tore off a sizable portion of the man’s flesh from his hand with the 89-year-old saying he was “permanently disfigured” and lost a large amount of blood from the injuries.

Police said Swift also had bruising on her face with blood coming out of her nose and said “Yes, I bit his fingers off” when asked by officers. She was arrested and charged with aggravated battery on a person age 65 or older.
