Quitting was not an option Saturday for Asia Ford during the 10K Rodes City Run.
Ford had been struggling with her weight and recently made lifestyle changes. She trained for months before the 6.2-mile race and had lost a significant amount of weight. At her heaviest she had weighted 474 pounds, but had managed to lose over 200 pounds before race day.
"He was like my angel," said Ford. "He came at the moment I really needed him." (WAVE3)
As they continued together toward the finish line, Gregory told Ford about his mother and her struggle with diabetes.
Ford, Gregory and Ford's son, Terrance, crossed the finish line hand in hand.
