A 54-year-old man is capturing the attention of the internet with his style.
Irvin Randle, a Houston native, said his internet fame was not intentional.
The elementary school teacher and "Pawpaw" to two grandchildren found out about his viral post -- photos of him with the hashtag #MrStealYourGrandma -- though family and friends on the internet.
As far as his internet fame, Randle told the Ice Cream Convos Podcast Thursday that he is "coping" with internet fame.
"I am on Facebook and I take pictures and I put it on there and get a lot of comments about it," Randle told the podcast. "And there's this guy -- I've lost his name in communication. He contacted last week. 'He said, 'Hey, I'm a Facebook fan of yours. I like the way you dress.'"
Randle said the man asked if he could share some photos of Randle on his own social media pages. After Randle got clarification on which photos would be used and where, he said OK.
"(Wednesday) morning, he called me and said, 'I posted your picture, but something is going on here. I only posted them for an hour, and you got 37,000 likes,'" Randle said.
Randle, who has a 6-month-old grandson and a 4-year-old granddaughter, said that while he was on the phone with the Facebook fan, his daughter, Jessica, called to let him know he's trending on Twitter with the hashtag #MrStealYourGrandma.
"I was amazed at first. Now I'm overwhelmed. I appreciate all the great comments," he told The Houston Chronicle.
Randle said he's been dressing in dapper clothing his whole life. He reads GQ magazine and looks at trends on Instagram for style ideas. "Things just got a little tighter for me, that's all," he said.
To maintain his shape, Randle lifts weights, plays basketball and football and goes on 3-mile runs.
For those wondering, Randle said he is dating someone.
"I'm very happy," he said.
