A  poll that was the most accurate in predicting the 2012 victory by Barack Obama over Mitt Romney, says Republican nominee Donald Trump is leading Democrat Hillary Clinton by 2.4 points nationally heading into the final 24 hours of the 2016 presidential election.

The Investor's Business Daily/TechnoMetrica Market Intelligence poll released Monday showed Trump was leading Clinton about 43 to 41 percent.

In a two-way race, not including Green Party candidate Jill Stein and Libertarian candidate Gary Johnson, Clinton holds a 1-point lead. The poll included 1,026 likely voters, one-third Democrats, one-third Republicans and one-third Independents or “others”.

The margin of error in the polling is +/- 3.1 percentage points.

The Real Clear Politics average poll has Clinton at 46.6 percent and Trump at 44.8 percent. The Real Clear Politics poll is an average of nine recent polls.
