A Florida woman had to be cut free from her seat belt after it locked around her neck and caused her to blackout after attempting to ger her 3-year-old back into a car seat.

According to Tampa TV station WTSP, the little girl was upset when her parents tried to get her to sit in child seat. Instead, she took a seat belt and wrapped it around her mother's neck. Not thinking it was a problem, the woman reached into the back seat to place the girl back into her seat.

That's when the belt began to tighten.

"I was like struggling so much, because I was panicking," the unnamed mom told WTSP. "I just wanted it off my neck."

However, the more she struggled, the tighter the strap became.

The family pulled to the side of the road, and the woman’s husband tried to help.

"He's pulling on it, but this thing would not give,” she told WTSP. “I was panicking, and it kept getting tighter. Then, that was it. At that point, it just got so bad. I blacked out.”

That’s when Florida state trooper Brad Wagner showed up.

Wagner ran to the car and cut the belt with a knife, freeing the mother. Medics arrived and found the woman to be fine, allowing the family to go about their Thanksgiving.
