Local, county and state agencies will have to buy flags made only in the United States after Jan. 1.

But the state legislature had already found that most of the flags bought in Florida, are already made in America.

The bill was the center of debate in the Florida House.

Some Republicans, AP reported in March, said the bill was anti-competitive.  Others, however, fired back saying that taxpayer money should not be spent on flags made in other countries like China.
