Four juvenile inmates staged a fight and escaped Saturday night from a Florida Department of Juvenile Justice facility, officials said.
Police received notification from the facility at 11:02 p.m. on Saturday that the four inmates escaped.
The suspects staged a fight in their dorm room around 11:02 p.m. and attacked staff who entered to stop the faux fracas, officials with the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office said.
The juveniles then fought with staff in the control room and pushed buttons to release the front door.
The four suspects dumped a staff member’s purse onto the floor and stole her vehicle keys and took a staff member’s issued cellphone, according to investigators.
Police responded and an immediate search was conducted without finding the inmates.
The search continued Sunday and two of the four suspects have been captured, officials said.
