What started in a school classroom quickly became the latest viral social media meme.
A group of students sat motionless in different poses in a 45-second video posted Oct. 26 to Twitter with the misspelled hashtag #manquinchallenge.
Within days, school bands, sports teams and teachers were creating their own versions with the proper spelling #mannequinchallenge also, many were set to music.
Many of the clips feature the song "Black Beatles" by Rae Sremmurd.
The hip hop duo participated in the meme during a concert in Denver when they asked the crowd to stay still while they recorded their challenge video, according to The Telegraph. The performers have also encouraged fans to share videos with them.
