A young Ireland woman with a visible black-eye took to Facebook to talk about her dramatic experience with domestic violence and to encourage others to leave abusive relationships.
In a story from PIX11, 26-year-old Emma Murphy said that the she recently confronted her partner (who is not named in the video) when he punched her in the face after she threw his phone.
Murphy had reservations about posting the video, but said:
"I thought long and hard before posting this video, this is very difficult for me but I have to do what is RIGHT, if you or anyone you know has it is in a similar situation please share this video to inspire other women around the world, violence is NOT the answer!!!!"
The video has over 70,000 shares and more than 100,000 likes as of Tuesday.
