French Fry Burger latest weapon in fast-food wars

Burger King has plans to combine the crown jewels of fast-food with a new burger concoction called the French Fry Burger.

You heard right — A french fry burger. But it's not as crazy as it sounds. The sandwich is basically a beef patty topped with four of the restaurant's french fries. So, it's about 360 calories and 19 grams of fat. (Via The Birmingham News)

Miami-based Burger King says the new burger will be available starting September 1st, and the chain plans to offer it through the fall. (Via Business Insider)

And you can get your hands on one for just a dollar — some say it’s an attempt to keep up with McDonald’s cheap eats.

But even fast-food tycoon McDonald's is jumping through hoops trying to bring in more hungry customers, and it's doing so by stepping up advertising for its Dollar Menu. (Via CNBC)

Other fast-food favorites, like Wendy’s, are following suit by focusing on promoting their most wallet-friendly options in order to keep sales up.
