“It’s a very small puppy and if the puppy isn’t taken care of it’ll get low blood sugar, so it needs special care,” said Marsha Kello.

Kello, owner of Puppies Galore and More off of Blanding Boulevard, tells Action News Jax the woman stole the puppy Saturday morning, 30 minutes after the store opened.

“My employees called me and said we have a puppy gone and we are looking at the video right now,” said Kello.

Store employees said the woman and the two boys were inside the store playing with the dog and everything was caught on camera.

Action News Jax looked at the surveillance video. The video showed the woman and the two boys playing with the puppy. About two minutes later, the video showed the woman standing guard while one of the little boys put the puppy inside her purse. All three of them then walked out of the store.

"As the lady left, she touched my employee and said, 'Have a Blessed Day,' while she had the puppy in her purse," Kello said.

The owner told Action News Jax this is not the first time someone stole puppies from her store, that’s why she installed the cameras. The owner said she filed a police report and she is also offering a $100 reward for the safe return of the puppy.
