A Los Angeles County firefighter never expected his wedding reception to end with his having to jump into action to save one of his guests.
Cody Campbell had just finished listening to a now-prophetic toast given by his father and best man.
"If I'm ever in a position where I need a fireman to help me, I hope it's you or I hope it's someone like you," Craig Campbell said.
Moments later, Cody Campbell was alerted to a wedding guest who was choking on a piece of meat, KCBS reported.
The younger Campbell wasn't the only one who jumped in to help. Many of the wedding guests were firefighters, who also were ready to save the woman's life.
Bride Kelly said some guests were not sure if it was real at the time.
"The timing was just crazy with how the speeches were going and what was said," Kelly told KCBS. "Even some people in the back who really couldn't see this far ahead truly thought it might have been staged."
The woman who was choking was fine and ended up finishing her steak.
She was later seen on the dance floor.
