On Christmas, the world-renowned French Laundry restaurant suffered a break-in of astronomical proportions. A total of 76 rare and highly prized bottles of wine were taken, with a retail value of approximately $300,000.

Thomas Keller, chef and proprietor, took to social media to announce the robbery and ask for the public’s help in recovering the stolen wine. A photo of the splintered door to the wine room is making the rounds on Twitter.

The French Laundry turned 20 in 2014 and is considered to be one of the finest restaurants in the world. The restaurant is currently closed for business while a kitchen remodeling project takes place.
