One Massachusetts family lost two sons too soon due to opiate overdoses in the very same day.

"I tried to help, did everything  I  could to save their lives and keep them away from it. It didn’t work," said Michael Woodbury Sr., the father.

Michael Woodbury and Jonathan Woodbury were found by their mother and Jonathan's 12-year-old daughter on June 11. Both had overdosed in separate bedrooms of the house they lived in with their parents and Jonathan's child.

Their father suspects the men died from the same bad batch. He said that his children had been clean after going through rehabilitative programs, Michael for three years and Jonathan for one year. He said the recent death of their grandmother set them back.

"The same night, in this house, the same house their grandmother died in hospice. They all died in this house since March," Woodbury Sr. told WFXT.

His message for other parents is to watch for the signs.

"Just keep an eye on your kids. Keep a really close eye on your kids. That's all," he said.

Michael Woodbury was 37 and Jonathan Woodbury was 33. They leave behind their parents, a sister, and Jonathan's daughter.
