Sixty days and more than 3,000 miles later, a New York family has completed its cross-country trek.
Shaun Evans and his family have run from Seattle, Washington to Orchard Beach, New York, WTEN reported.
The inspiring part, though, is not the run itself, but the fact that he pushed his 9-year-old son Shamus the entire way during their "Power to Push," Runner's World reported.
Shamus was born with cerebral palsy and cannot walk, but rides as his dad pushes him.
The duo started running together a few years ago during an ultra marathon where Shaun pushed Shamus for 45 miles in six hours, WTEN reported.
When the day was done, Shamus asked if they could do that every day in the summer, giving wheelchairs to kids in need.
They teamed up with Ainsley's Angels, a group that helps people with disabilities exercise and experience things they would not normally be able to.
Shamus, Shaun and the rest of the family flew to Seattle to start their run on July 4, first dipping their feet in Puget Sound before putting feet and wheels to pavement.
As father and son ran, mom Nichole and younger brother Simon followed along the route in an Ainsley's Angels bus.
Tuesday they ended their journey as Shamus dipped into Pelham Bay, getting his feet wet on both coasts.
The family averaged more than 50 miles a day during their adventure, Runner's World reported.
