Ken Densley, the man's son, shared the story in a Facebook post on Saturday.

"My dad, born in 1929, won't let (his children) mow his lawn," Densley wrote. "He pushed too hard (Saturday) and passed out. The neighbors saw and called 911."

Densley said he and his sister came to the Sacramento, California, home as soon as they heard about what happened. He said his father refused to go to the hospital, and as his children took him back inside, they saw an EMT mowing the lawn.

"I told him I would do that but he insisted," Densley said. "He finished and even put the mower away."

Densley said he was able to convince his father to go to the hospital, where was kept overnight.

The man has been discharged from the hospital and is doing well.

The post, which has been picked up by UPI and other media outlets, has over 10,000 reactions on Facebook.

His son said his father will allow his children to mow his lawn from now on.
