A Florida man was arrested on Tuesday after deputies said he chased a woman with an ax when attempting to evict her from his daughter's residence.

Joseph San Fillipo, 46, was at his daughter's home at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday when he grabbed an ax and began to move toward the woman's room, the Bradenton Herald reports.

When she saw him coming, the woman told deputies she “screamed and forcefully kicked the door shut,” but was stopped by San Fillipo. Witnesses told deputies that the woman was screaming after she saw the ax in San Fillipo’s hand, but she was not injured during the incident, according to the Herald.

San Fillipo was arrested and charged with simple battery and criminal mischief. $200 worth of damage was done to the door, The Herald reports.
