A viral video is showing that many police officers are just dads behind badges.
Roanoke, Va. police officer noticed his kids were playing in the driveway when he got home from work. Still in uniform, he staged a video.
He walks up to them, pretending to pull them over and but the kids gave him attitude, and "sped away" as the kids say, "he has no backup, floor it."
After a short, low-speed chase, he caught his 'perps,' but they then try running him over.
Originally the clip was going to be just for his Facebook friends, now it's making the round on a law enforcement website and has gone viral from there, WDBJ reported.
Bowman works every day with children as a school resource officer. He's now hoping that the video will help the public communicate with police, and breaking down barriers between the community and the department, WDBJ reported.
