Logan Fairbanks and his father Josh Fairbanks, 30, posted videos for the past year on YouTube, showing the two playing pranks on one another. But after Logan noticed many mean comments posted by viewers, he decided to confront them.
In his YouTube video, Logan calmly read comments made about him such as "I hope that he dies," "He's such a stupid fatzo" and "Squeal, piggy, squeal," according to ABC News.
“I was very hesitant [to allow Logan to make the video]” Josh Fairbanks said to ABC News. “I knew he had seen some comments, but I also knew that he hasn’t seen anywhere near the worst of them.”
Since posted Tuesday, the video has been viewed more than 500,000 times and has received 3,005 comments. Most comments are supportive and heartfelt.
“They are literally jealous of you dude,” one viewer wrote. “The more hate you get, the more jealous those people are.”
Logan also put a personal statement in the video stating, “I hope that people don’t bully other people online anymore, and that this helps.”
