Many people say, 'Everything happens for a reason" — the good and bad all lead to some greater purpose. That seems to have come true on some level for one victim of the Boston Marathon bombings.

On his Facebook page, Costello writes, "April 15th was one of the worst days of my life ... I soon wondered why and for what reason this had happened." (Via WCVB)
He spent two weeks in a general hospital, then moved to Spaulding Rehabilitation Hospital, where one of his nurses was Krista D'Agostino.

During a trip to Europe specifically for the Boston Bombing survivors, Costello proposed to D'Agostino almost eight months after they met each other in the hospital. (Via KGTV)
After the engagement, Costello took to Facebook once again to say why he thinks he was involved in such a tragedy back in April.
"I now realized why I was involved in the tragedy, it was to meet my best friend, and the love of my life." (Via WCVB)
