The maintenance supervisor for the Baltimore Department of Public Works was fired after an employee complained about his habit of watching porn at work.
An investigation found the supervisor spent 39 hours viewing an X-rated DVD over a two-week period.
Inspector General Rob Pearre Jr. told The Baltimore Sun, "It would have been the same if he were watching sports on his computer for four out of eight hours a day."
Monitoring software installed on the worker's computer indicated the material was viewed in "full-screen" mode. They believe that means little to no work was being performed during the time that pornographic material was visible on the screen.
City officials say if the man kept the same patterns over a year, the cost to the city would be nearly $29,000.
