A vigil was held Friday night on Deer Island in honor of Bella Bond, formerly known as Baby Doe, where the child's biological father says he's changed his mind about what he believes happened to his daughter.

Bella's body was found on Deer Island in June. For months police worked to identify the young girl. A week ago a tip cracked open the case and police identified the girl as Bella Bond and arrested her mother, Rachelle Bond and her mother's boyfriend, Michael McCarthy. Bond has been charged as an accessory and McCarthy with Bella's murder.

"In the past 5 days or so I have change about what really happened," he said. "I feel like Rachelle is not telling the truth, she had every part covering, if not taking part in the actual murder," he said.

Hundreds attended the candlelight vigil and most brought a 6-inch by 6-inch piece of fabric with a personal message for Bella in order to create a blessing blanket. The organizers hope to give the blanket to her family.

Patricia Quinn, the mother of Bella's biological father, told us she was only able to spend a few months with Bella before her mother would no longer come around and now she wishes she could have done more.

"I wish we were able to take her before all this happened. We tried, we tried so many times and we were so concerned about her because we knew Rachelle was a drug addict and prostitute. And right there telling me something," she said.

Quinn went to the vigil early so she could spend time along thinking about Bella.
