UGA president-elect appoints transition advisory team

The next president of the University of Georgia has appointed a 12-person committee to advise him on key issues facing the state’s flagship institution.

Jere Morehead, UGA’s current provost, becomes president July 1.

The transition team will consult with faculty, staff, students, alumni and others in the community. The group will share their ideas with Morehead.

Michael Adams, UGA’s current president, will step down June 30 after leading the school for 16 years.
