Three suspects have been charged in connection with a bizarre tree-cutting incident caught on video in Forsyth County.

The trio is accused of using a chainsaw to cut down a large Bradford pear tree outside Southern Cinema Design near downtown Cumming, and then dragging the tree down Ga. 20. The company's security camera captured the heist.

Stanley Hendrix, Raymond Salano and Jennifer Word, Hendrix's fiance, were arrested Monday at a Dahlonega Highway home, Karleen Chalker with the Forsyth County Sheriff's Office told the Forsyth News.

Hendrix, 39, was charged with reckless conduct, first-degree criminal damage, and obstruction, according to the report. He was released after posting bond, set at $12,870, according to jail records.

Salano, 30, was charged with reckless conduct and first-degree criminal damage. He was released Monday evening after posting his $11,715 bond, but was back in jail hours later following a traffic stop, Chalker told the newspaper.

Salano was released again Tuesday after being charged with driving under the influence of drugs and failing to wear a seat belt.

Word, 25, who has been charged with obstruction of an officer, was released on a $1,155 bond, according to jail records.

Jared Wallace, sales and marketing manager for Southern Cinema, told the AJC that while it was fortunate that no humans were injured during the incident, a neighbor’s cat was killed when the suspects drove off with the tree tied to the trailer hitch of the pickup truck they were driving.
