Drivers along State Route 13/Buford Highway between Lanier Islands Parkway and Sawnee Avenue in Buford will shift to the westbound lanes as construction partners with E.R. Snell start work on the eastbound lanes.

Drivers along S.R.13/Buford Highway may have already seen message boards along the project limits notifying them of the upcoming shift.

This project will widen the roadway to four lanes, two lanes in each direction, with a 20-foot raised grass median. There will also be bike lanes and a 5-foot sidewalk on both sides of the route.

E.R. Snell Contractor, Inc. of Snellville, Georgia was awarded the project in June of 2016 and will complete the project in June of 2020. This project will increase safety and increase the capacity between Gwinnett and Hall counties.
