Q: The Atlanta Journal-Constitution obituary on the late chef Georges Lamour, who invented the paper toque, did not say where he worked in Atlanta. Where was he employed in metro Atlanta?

— M.A. Woodham, Newnan

A: Lamour never worked in metro Atlanta. He lived in the Miami area until moving to Sandy Springs in 2010 to be closer to his sons. He suffered his second heart attack at 57 years old and retired shortly after that, according to The Miami Herald. Lamour, a native of France, had worked in Montreal, Dayton, Ohio, Cleveland, Charlotte and Miami, according to published reports. In Miami, Lamour was the executive chef of Miami Beach's the Americana for more than 20 years. He was 89 when he died at Northeast Atlanta Health and Rehabilitation Center on Aug. 5.

Q: What is the tattoo on Misty May-Treanor's lower back? During her matches, it always seemed to be blurred.

— Joan Noonan, Alpharetta

A: It started as the Roman numeral V (5), her uniform number at Long Beach State, adorned with her grandmother's initials, according to published reports. She has since added flowers to the tattoo, making it larger and tougher to see the original design. May-Treanor also has a tattoo of an angel with her mother's initials (B.M.) on her left shoulder and a tattoo on the inside of her right wrist as a symbol of her marriage to Los Angeles Dodgers catcher Matt Treanor. May-Treanor and partner Kerri Walsh Jennings have won the gold medal in women's beach volleyball in the past three summer Olympics.
