Eyewitness Robin McMillian testified Wednesday in the murder trial of Jonathan Redding, allegedly a trigger-happy member of a street gang, but he did so by having his previous sworn testimony read to the Fulton County Superior Court  jury.

McMillian, who lives in Germany, said Redding robbed him and then shot at him on Dec. 21, 2008 outside the Standard Food & Spirits.

Prosecutors contend Redding and his confederates later returned to the Grant Park tavern to steal its flat-screen televisions and murdered staffer John Henderson. Prosecutors are using McMillian to put the gun used in both Standard robberies in Redding's hands.

Defense lawyers say McMillian's identification is suspect because his description of the gunman doesn't match the 19-year-old Redding.  Police recovered the pistol after a man wounded a robber, who left the gun behind. Blood on the gun matched Redding. Ballistics matched it to cartridges fired at the Standard.
