As part of the construction of the new industrial warehouse on the east side of Tatum Road, the city of Palmetto has required the contractor to upgrade the road pavement from the CSX line to Johnson Road. The footprint of Tatum Road will not change. Traffic on Tatum Road will be diverted to one lane at a time during the construction and only accessible to local traffic, according to a press release.
After construction of the road is completed, the contractor will also install a sidewalk on the west side of Tatum Road that will run from the CSX line to the new industrial site.
It is anticipated that construction will run through June.
