Update-DeKalb County
Earlier this month, we told you about a reader’s problems with potholes in DeKalb County on Stratmor Drive in Tucker.
“Three to four years ago, the county came out with a man and a spray can and marked parts of the road that needed patch work. They never came out to repave and the paint marks have long ago disappeared. The entire street needs repaving, and has since before the guy and the spray can,” the reader said.
We heard back from the county.
“We inspected Stratmor Drive March 14. It appears that there is a utility cut on the right side of the street that has caused several patches to fail over time. As a result, several potholes are popping up along the street. We will take care of the potholes as an immediate repair and perform larger patches where needed,” wrote DeKalb’s communications manager Andrew Cauthen.

Update-DeKalb County
Also in early March, we told you about a reader’s issue with Rosser Road in DeKalb County.
“I have emailed DeKalb County several times but nothing seems to happen. About three to four years ago, the county repainted Rosser Road from the DeKalb line to Hugh Howell Road. The problem is all the potholes that were there before the resurface have now reappeared,” David McGaughey said. He added that most of them are between Ox Bow Road and Rosser Place. We heard back from the county.
“Rosser Road was inspected and we found one repairable pothole. The street has a lot of cracking, but no failure at this time. We will fill the pothole as soon as possible and make all necessary repairs,” wrote DeKalb’s communications manager Andrew Cauthen.

New item-Cobb County
Tom Bigelow hopes something can be done about a busy intersection.
Bigelow said the Silver Comet Connector intersection at South Cobb Drive and the East West Connector was relatively safe until the construction of a new convenience store.
“Now, west bound traffic can enter/exit the store across the path of the Silver Comet Connector from the East West Connector. As you can see from the attached photos there are no markings on the pavement to indicate that this is a pedestrian/bicycle pathway. White diagonal striping, at a minimum should be required,” he said.
We sent the item to Cobb County and will keep you updated.
