Sugar Hill city leaders have proposed a 2019 millage rate of 3.8 mills, the same millage rate the city has adopted for 15 consecutive years. The City Council will conduct the last of three public hearings on the proposed millage rate of 3.8 mills at 7:30 p.m. July 8 at City Hall, 5039 West Broad St.
The proposed millage rate will result in a property tax increase of about 6.92 percent. Without this tentative tax increase, Sugar Hill’s millage rate would need to be lowered to the rollback rate of 3.554 mills.
The proposed increase will mean an additional $27.06 per year for a home worth $275,000. Commercial property valued at $400,000 will see an increase of about $39.36 per year.
