Fairburn City Council has agreed to spend funds to address development of walking trails around Duncan and Leadership parks. The proposed improvements come as a result of a grant awarded to Fairburn on an 80/20 matching basis from the Georgia Department of Natural Resources.

Council members last month discussed using some funds to survey the area to consider the layout design of improvements and where to place the trails in the parks. After a suggestion from Councilmember Elizabeth Hurst that Fairburn consider the layout of the Mayor’s Park in Union City as a model, the council agreed to further development plans for enhancements to both parks.
