The Southern Christian Leadership Conference will host a roundtable discussion on sex trafficking from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday in Room 252 at Emory University’s Candler School of Theology.
Panelists will include the Pastor Darryl Winston and Cathelean Steele, director of SCLC’s “Stop the Violence” initiative.
The roundtable is part of the initiative.
Survey questionnaires, the roundtable and pre- and post-discussion interviews will provide raw data for a study that SCLC’s “Justice for Girls” will put together over the next few months. Other roundtables, designed to be data collecting tools, will examine the connection between sex trafficking and public health and crime and punishment.
A “Justice for Girls” workshop, based upon the data collected from the roundtables, is scheduled to be held on Aug. 26 in Washington, D.C., as part of SCLC’s 50th Anniversary on the March to Washington, D.C. events.
