The city of Roswell is looking for a few good emergency responders.

The Roswell Fire Department is accepting applications from residents interested in serving on a Citizen Emergency Response Team, trained volunteers that that would be integrated into emergency response situations such as fires and flooding.

City officials said the program trains team members about disaster response and basic disaster skill situations such as light search and rescue, fire safety and disaster medical operations. The team members can then spring into action following a disaster when emergency responders can’t make it to a scene right away.

Training will be held 7 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. on Thursdays starting Sept. 24. Most classes will be held at Roswell Fire Station 7, 8025 Holcomb Bridge Road. Class size is limited to 16.
