On Saturday, a social media account with the name Joycelyn Savage said the Atlanta native was, indeed, a victim of singer R. Kelly.
The 24-year-old woman had been living with Kelly since she was 19, and previously defended their relationship.
Now she is speaking out about her experience, the account on the paid online platform Patreon states. However, according to a report from TMZ, Patreon wants Savage to verify she really is the one sharing the graphic details to subscribers.
Over the weekend, the account said: "I am here to tell my story I will reveal information/secrets I've been sweared to not ever bring to light but I am willing to risk it all."
Posts to the Patreon account share graphic details of what it says is Savage’s time with R. Kelly. However, TMZ is reporting the platform is working to confirm the person behind that information is really Savage.
“Our source tells us the user will have to provide a government-issued form of identification to satisfy Patreon,” the tabloid reports.
A subscription to the Patreon account ranges from $3 to $25 for varying levels of content. TMZ reports the account has more than 1,800 subscribers.
In February, R. Kelly posted a $100,000 bail after being charged with 10 counts of aggravated sexual abuse. He has pleaded not guilty and denied any wrongdoing.
In July, the singer, whose real name is Robert Sylvester Kelly, was arrested on new federal charges, including allegations of enticing minors to engage in criminal sexual activity, racketeering, and producing and receiving child pornography, according to federal authorities.
Savage met Kelly when she was 17. Her family has repeatedly pleaded for her to come home and insisted she was being held against her will.
Recently, the family’s attorney, Gerald Griggs, told WSB-TV that Savage’s parents are “very concerned” about the details being posted online.
“They want to have contact with their daughter. If she details to them what the account has detailed to the world, we will be pursuing criminal action against Mr. Kelly,” Griggs said.
Savage’s mother, JonJelyn Savage, told the TV station, “She’s finally coming to her senses and she’s ready to reveal her stories in her own words.”
Kelly, who has owned homes in metro Atlanta, has denied the charges linked to both his arrests.
His attorney, Steve Greenberg, told TMZ, “It is unfortunate that (Joycelyn) now seeks to make money by exploiting her long time, loving relationship with Robert.”
