An equipment failure that knocked out power to roughly 3,500 homes in East Atlanta, Grant Park and Ormewood Park has been repaired.

"Something came in contact with the line," causing a breaker lockout around 9:26 p.m.,  Georgia Power spokeswoman Christy Ihrag told the AJC.

Power was restored a little more than an hour later.
