Atlanta police Thursday were investigating a predawn burglary at a northwest Atlanta business that teaches, among other things, pole dancing.

The burglars shattered the glass front door of PoleLaTeaz in the 2100 block of Hills Avenue about 4 a.m., according to police dispatchers.

Police investigators had not yet determined what was taken, but said the burglars apparently ransacked the office of the dance studio.

Tom Puett, who owns the Gillespi Business Center that houses the studio, was working Thursday to get the glass door replaced.

He told the AJC that the owner of PoleLaTeaz was out of town, and a manager was expected to come by later in the day to determine what was missing.

“Looks like somebody threw a brick through the front glass,” Puett said. He said that despite a quick response from the alarm company and police, “nobody saw anybody, as far as I know.”

According to the PoleLaTeaz website, the studio offers "women of all ages a unique form of exercise dedicated to strengthening and toning their bodies while unleashing their inner goddess in a safe, fun and encouraging environment."

The studio offers pole dance classes, exotic dance classes, lap dance classes and striptease workshops.
