The Norcross City Council voted recently to approve a stream buffer variance at 464 Cochran Drive. The homeowner, Darden Cobb, needs the variance to add a room and patio at the rear of the existing home. The stream, a tributary to Crooked Creek, runs transversely through the site. The homeowner is seeking a variance to allow encroachment in the 75-foot non‐improvement setback on the north side of the stream.

The approval requires the homeowner to apply for a building permit showing preservation of the mitigation areas. The homeowner must also file a Residential Drainage Plan in conjunction with the application for a building permit.
