Fulton County plans to appeal Superior Court Judge Jerry Baxter's decision to let two whistleblower lawsuits move forward, when he rejected the county's assertion that it has sovereign immunity. Baxter put the cases on inactive status while the question goes before the state Court of Appeals.

Business and community leaders are being asked to step into the shoes of a Fulton County school principal for a day to understand the rewards and demands of being an educator. Fulton’s fourth Principal for a Day event is timed to coincide with American Education Week.  From Nov. 14-18, Fulton’s real-life principals will “hand over the keys to the school” and allow business and community leaders to stand in for them at staff meetings, parent conferences, classroom observations, lunchroom and carpool duty, as well as the many unexpected events. Henry County's Red Oak Elementary School will help National Geographic Kids magazine set the Guinness World Records® title for the most people doing jumping jacks in a 24-hour period. Two large groups of students in K-2 and grades 3-5 will be doing their part today between 1 p.m. and 2:30 p.m. at the Stockbridge school.To break the record, more than 20,000 people worldwide are trying to complete one minute of jumping jacks by 3 p.m. today.
