Marietta will install two flashing speed signs on Polk Street to slow traffic near Marietta Middle School.

The Marietta City Council approved installing signs that reflect a driver’s speed as part of traffic calming measures around West Side Elementary and the middle school. The council last month approved lowering the speed limit on Maple Avenue from 35 mph to 25 mph and adding stop signs where Maple intersects Winn, Camp and Holland streets. Both schools are located on Polk Street.
