Lawrenceville council members with expiring terms this year, Robert Clark and Keith Roche, have qualified for candidacy and remain uncontested for re-election. As a result, the city will not hold general elections, as previously planned for Nov. 7.

“The council posts being unchallenged is a testament of faith in our leadership and a message to continue the work we have been doing,” said Mayor Judy Jordan Johnson. “The city is experiencing great momentum at this time and this news enables us - as the voice of the people - to continue implementing the city’s vision for excellence as we move into the new year.”

The city council will hold its next public meeting at 7 p.m. Sept. 6 in the council chambers of City Hall, 70 S. Clayton St. Information: www.lawrencevillega.org.
