Dredging and repairs on Peachtree City’s Lake Peachtree still have a bit longer to go, according to an update Fayette County Manager Steve Rapson sent to the county Board of Commissioners on Monday.

Rapson’s memo said that pilings and three stockpiles of silt need to be removed, along with work related to the access roadbed and the contractor’s equipment. The lake level has been lowered again but the area will need “another week or so,” weather permitting, to get dry enough to allow hauling to resume.

Final work on the spillway is expected to be done “over the next few weeks,” he said.
