The city of Jonesboro attained its official Main Street designation on May 14, according to the city’s newsletter.

Jessica Reynolds, Executive Director of the Office of Downtown Development, Main Street Georgia, presented a plaque to the City of Jonesboro at the May 14 Council Meeting designating Jonesboro as a Classic Main Street City. This prestigious program places the city in line for additional assistance and funding in developing a vibrant downtown area. Members of Main Street and the Downtown Development Authority attended the presentation.

Main Street America has been helping revitalize older and historic commercial districts for more than 35 years.
