Forsyth County residents have two opportunities to comment on the second draft of revised school attendance lines approved late last week by the Board of Education.
A public hearing is set for 6 p.m. Thursday night at the cafeteria at West Forsyth High School, 4155 Drew Road, Cumming. An online survey is also posted at forsyth.k12.ga.us and will remain in place until Oct. 26
The revised lines are designed to reduce overcrowding at existing campuses and to populate Brandywine Elementary and DeSana Middle School, both of which are expected to open for the 2016-17 school year. Administrators and board members have looked at a number of zone changes involving several south Forsyth subdivisions which are designed to allow the new schools to open with a minimum of 750 students.
