Officials from Cobb County, the Cumberland CID, Atlanta Regional Commission and the North Fulton Chamber of Commerce will kickoff the U.S. Highway 41 bridge replacement project on Friday with a “bridge-breaking” event.

The four-lane bridge, built in 1935, connects Cobb and Fulton counties, and will be replaced to all for greater capacity, safer traffic flow and improved connectivity between the counties.

The bridge-breaking event begins at 9 a.m. at the Chattahoochee River National Recreation Area, 4005 Cobb Parkway SE in Atlanta.
