A rezoning request from RA (residential-agricultural) to MU (mixed use) for a potential multi-family development at 4138 West Village Parkway and 41 Bowden Road in the Fairview area was recommended for denial by the Henry County Zoning Advisory Board at its Jan. 9 regular meeting.

The applicant’s plan called for 154 dwelling units on 10.28 acres, which is just under the 16-unit-per-acre maximum under the mixed use designation on the county’s Future Land Use Map, according to county staff. A motion to recommend approval with staff conditions failed to get a second, and the ensuing motion to recommend denial passed.

Final approval on the possible rezoning would be up to the Board of Commissioners.
