Gwinnett commissioners approved an annual contract Dec. 15 for traffic signal and intelligent transportation system demand services to low bidders, The ComTran Group Inc., North Cherokee Electrical Contractors Inc. and Over and Under General Contractors Inc. The combined contract for $570,327 is funded 55 percent by the General Fund and 45 percent by the 2009 SPLOST Fund.

The Intelligent Transportation System includes the installation of new CCTV camera locations, fiber optic cable, and the maintenance and repair of existing equipment associated with the county network.
