Banneker High School in Fulton County is one of several campuses that showed enough improvement to move off the state’s low-performing schools lists.

Fulton County school officials said eight district schools are being pulled from the state’s Priority and Focus Schools lists due to increased student achievement.

District officials said Banneker High School, Creekside High School, Hapeville Charter Career Academy and Tri-Cities High School are being removed from the Priority Schools list, and Bethune Elementary School, Hamilton E. Holmes Elementary, Hapeville Charter Middle School and Seaborn Lee Elementary School are coming off the Focus Schools list. State education officials use the lists to identify those campuses needing the most additional support and resources.

The schools made improvements in such areas as test scores and graduation rates.
