“As a father, I know how important it is to be able for fathers to provide for their families,” Fulton County Solicitor Keith E. Gammage said in the release. “This program, focused on fathers will allow men who have made a mistake to get a second chance and back on their feet so that they can lead their homes and communities.”
MORE ATLANTA NEWS:
The program is the latest effort the Fulton County Solicitor’s Office has taken to expunging records. The office already has a misdemeanor expungement division to offer year-round access to apply for criminal record restrictions.
Those with a record can have difficulty finding employment.
The office hopes to expunge the records of 1,000 fathers through the free Father's Day Expungement program. Those interested may register online at www.fultonrestorativejustice.org through Father's Day.
“There is great pride in a hard day’s work and being able to take care of your family,” Gammage said. “We want to give men a second chance as we celebrate Father’s Day.”
