The Forsyth County Board of Eduction has recommended an increase in millage rates the school system uses to raise revenue for yearly operating expenses and to pay off school bonds. The board recommended raising the millage rate for the operating expenses from 15.395 mills to 16.58 mills, generating $9 million more in revenue, and raising the millage rate for paying off bonds from 1.418 mills to 2.418 mills, generating about $7.7 million more in revenue. A vote to approve a millage rate is scheduled for July 21 regular meeting.
