A hot air balloon landed in a retention pond Monday morning along State Road 429 near Walt Disney World in Orange County, the Florida Highway Patrol said.

Seven people were aboard the balloon when the pilot made an emergency landing shortly before 8 a.m. at mile marker 7, Sgt. Kim Montes said.

The balloon is owned by Orlando Balloon Rides, which is based in Davenport, Montes said.

The pilot told troopers that issues with the wind prevented him from landing on a strip adjacent to the pond, investigators said.

"All of the occupants got out of the balloon and have been transported back to their destination," Montes said. "The company is making arrangements to remove the balloon from the retention pond."

The pilot tried to land in a field near Florida's Turnpike, but he wasn't able to, troopers said.

Traffic wasn't affected during the incident.

No one was injured.

No other details were given.
